Oatmeal Porridge

Boiled Oatmeal Porridge

  • 1 C rolled oats
  • 2 C water
  • pinch of salt

Directions: heat water to boiling and add oats. Cover and let simmer for 10 minutes. Be sure to stir as it thickens in the last couple minutes. Serve hot with a favorite (or new) topping!

 

Porridge Toppings:

  • milk of choice (almond, coconut, dairy or cream)
  • honey or maple syrup
  • fresh, frozen or dried fruits
  • good oils (coconut or flaxseed)
  • freshly ground flax or hemp seeds
  • spices of choice: cinnamon, cloves or nutmeg
