This recipe is tailored specifically from the goods put up in my home. I do canning every year that includes rose hip syrup and elderberry juice. We juice apples (raw form) every time we get the chance and freeze the liquid in its natural state. This way, liquid can be made throughout the winter months.
This drink can be substituted in place of daily water intake, though I recommend you take water as well!
My Home Juice
- 2 C raw apple cider (aka juice)
- 2 C ginger extract
- 1/2 C elderberry juice
- 1/2 C rose hip syrup
- 1 lemon
Directions: boil a 2-3 inch piece of ginger in 3 C water for 30 min. Measure off 2 C and pour into a quart mason jar. Add apple juice, elderberry, rose hip and the juice of 1 lemon. Store in non-reactive container and if refrigerating, keep sealed. Use within 2 days time.
